Blend on high for 10 seconds and your drink is ready to pour. To thicken your smoothie, add frozen fruit or more ice and for a creamier mixture add non-fat yogurt or frozen yogurt.

In addition, you can make your drink ahead of time and freeze it in a freezer-proof cup for up to three days. A pumpkin smoothie requires 2 cups of chilled canned pumpkin, 12 ounces of skim milk, 1 ½ cups orange juice, and ½-cup banana. Simply put the ingredients in your blender and blend well.

Strawberry smoothies are a popular smoothie ingredient. To make this tasty drink, combine five large strawberries, six ounces of fat-free strawberry yogurt, a four-ounce packet of sugar-free lemonade, and a packet of sweetener in the blender and process until smooth. For some vegetable flair, try this tomato smoothie. Put the following into your blender:
Two cups chopped tomatoes or 3 whole tomatoes cut in pieces
1/2 Cup to 3/4 cup V8 or vegetable juice
½ cup of carrots

several leaves of lettuce or fresh spinach
Two cups of ice
Blend until smooth.

Easy Fruit Smoothie
3/4 Cup apple juice
5-6 strawberries
1 banana, cut in chunks
5-6 ice cubes
Put the ingredients in your blender and blend well.

Apple Smoothie
1 apple, peeled and sliced
1 banana, cut in chunks
1 Cup orange juice
1 Cup skim milk or soy milk
Put the ingredients in your blender and blend well.

Blueberry Smoothie
1 Cup low fat yogurt
1 Cup skim milk
1 Cup blueberries
5-6 ice cubes

Cantaloupe Delight

1 Cantaloupe
1 Banana
10-15 ice cubes
4 packets Splenda

Add cantaloupe first, then half the ice, then the banana and then the rest of the ice. Add the Splenda last.

Diet smoothies can alleviate the sugar cravings, which sometimes result from dieting. Since they are healthy and filling, you can replace an entire meal with a smoothie. So, if you are dieting and counting the hours until your next meal, have a smoothie and stay on your weight-loss plan.
